Making Schools Safe Again
As schools prepared to reopen, the Alliance Development Trust (ADT), in coordination with the Kolonnawa Divisional Secretariat, organised a clean-up and restoration of a primary school in Kotikawatta. The school had been used as a temporary shelter for flood-affected families. This effort helped ensure the school was ready to resume the delayed school term. Essential Relief for Flood-Affected Households
As of 16 December 2025, the Alliance Development Trust (ADT) distributed dry ration packs to 549 flood-affected households across Trincomalee, Nuwara Eliya, Gampola, Batticaloa, Diwulapitiya, Katana, Ja-Ela, and Minuwangoda. The support prioritised 92 women-headed families in Trincomalee, along with 118 families in Nuwara Eliya, 103 in Gampola, 67 in Batticaloa, and 169 families in Diwulapitiya, Katana, Ja-Ela, and Minuwangoda. Medical Camps set up for immediate emergencies
The ADT conducted three medical camps in Sedawatte, Wattala, reaching 250 community members. These Medical camps were conducted with volunteer doctors; they were focused on safeguarding community health by preventing and managing communicable diseases, which commonly increase in the aftermath of floods.
