Backpack Dreams 2024

Supporting Children’s Education Across Sri Lanka

In a heartfelt effort to nurture young minds, ADT’s Children’s Sector—together with the Health Sector—launched the Backpack Dreams initiative, bringing educational hope to over 300 children across 16 regions of Sri Lanka.

From Punduloya to Batticaloa, Trincomalee to Galle, and Jaffna to Balangoda, our backpacks journeyed across the island—each one carrying more than just school supplies, but a message of care and encouragement.

Each child received a fully equipped school kit containing:

• 1 School Bag

• 3 CR Single Rule Books

• 3 CR Square Rule Books

• 5 Exercise Single Rule Books

• 5 Exercise Square Rule Books

Many of the children who benefited come from families affected by leprosy. For them, these school packs meant more than the essentials—they lightened the financial burden on parents and inspired children to continue learning with renewed confidence and joy.

The success of Backpack Dreams 2024 was made possible through the unwavering dedication of ADT’s regional teams. From carefully packing each bag to ensuring every delivery reached a child in need, their compassion shone through every step of the way.

With every backpack shared, we aimed to do more than prepare children for school—we aimed to remind them that their dreams matter, and that a brighter future begins with the gift of education.
