Medical camp in Neluwa - Galle

The Minimuthu Youth club and the Cornerstone Church organized a medical camp on the 5th of June 2010 at the Delluwa Maha Vidyalaya, Galle.
 
The residents of Neluwa, Galle live close to the Sinharaja Rain forest. They are poor with low education levels which have also contributed to their ill health. Many of them were found to be suffering from malnutrition, early pregnancy (below the age of 18) some of the health issues seen predominant among those in this remote village.

The camp was successfully conducted between 9 am and 4 pm with the assistance of 9 doctors. Medication was provided within the same premises. 280 persons received treatment this day. All religious leaders were present at the start of this camp as a short religious observance was conducted.  The medical camp enabled us to strengthen relationships between government and religious leaders.
