Mobile Medical Clinics - Point Pedro

31 January 2007

Shortage of medicines, including paracetamol, to treat non lethal illness in hospitals has reached crisis proportions.  Outpatients with diabetes, high blood pressure and heart problems, who require regular cycles of medication, are being asked to buy the medicines from outside pharmacies.  Medicines which are available are marked at exorbitant prices, beyond the reach of many patients.

Alliance Development Trust set up medical clinics at several refugee camps in the Point Pedro Division.  A medical team visited the camps and provided medicines and other medical assistance.  More than 100 people, including children were treated.
