Following the December 2004 Tsunami, Alliance Development Trust
became involved in water and sanitation activities on the east coast
of Sri Lanka, particularly in the Trincomalee District. Initial
relief activities focused on cleaning of wells and rehabilitation,
as well as distribution, chlorination, and monitoring of water
storage tanks for communities in affected regions.
The water and sanitation
activities have now transitioned from relief to development in the
Trincomalee region. Alliance Development Trust is now focusing on
taking this project to other areas too. |
