Ten Families from Selvanayagapuram receive toilets

September 2010

Most families living in Selvanayagapuram Trincomalee are displaced by the war. When the villagers came back to their homes they found they had no proper toilet facilities, hence they used the nearby jungles as their toilet. Due to this reason their hygiene practices too were very poor. The Graama Niladhari of this village requested ADT to build 10 toilets for 10 needy families. The materials for the toilets were provided by ADT. The beneficiaries built the toilets in their own home premises. The toilets were built within one month under the guidance of the ADT. The Graama Niladhari thanked ADT for their timely support and also mentioned that the hygiene practices of these families had now improved as a result of the new toilets.
