E L Dixon

E L Dixon, of Kallavanchikuda aged 50 was abroad earning and providing for his wife and the two children. “We as a family were doing very well and I came down to Sri Lanka in 2004 hoping to live a happy life with my family and I started an Agriculture business to provide for my family from what I have earned” says Dixon. But it was not to be as the waves of destruction destroyed our whole life. Our house was washed away leaving only the boundary walls. All their belongings were taken away including all the goods and money worth of Rs. 300,000/= which Dixon had brought from abroad. But the most heartbreaking thing that happened was that the Tsunami claimed the life of Dixon’s eldest son. “We were truly in shock and stranded without having a place to go. My wife completely lost her senses due to the shock. We took refuge in the Methodist Church for sometime and I got to know about ADT” said Dixon. ADT provided Dixon with a grant of Rs. 25,000/= from which he started a Poultry farm and built a small house. I treated my wife and now she’s totally healed. Now I earn about Rs.200/= per day which is sufficient for my family to live and I have fowls and goods worth of

Rs.50, 000/= as at today. I had 50 fowls in my small farm and due to the heat 25 died and now I’m managing with 25 fowls. I’m eternally grateful to ADT for helping my family, without them I couldn’t have looked after my family and up to date we live because of ADT. I have a family now because of ADT and I hope and pray everyday asking God to look after ADT day after day for the work they do to poor people like us Thank You very much said Dixon gratefully.
