Kanthi is a widow. She is a Buddhist. Her husband died 4 years ago though an illness. She has a son and a daughter. Her daughter got married and she is helping her mother. Kanthi’s son is a drug addict. On rainy days, Kanthi’s cottage roof will leak so no one cannot sleep there. So Kanthi has to take care of her grown children even thou they are married. Alliance Development Trust helped her with Rs. 15.000/= to purchase a sewing machine and necessary items. So she can extend her life. The small income generation that Kanthi does sewing carpets at home and selling to the surrounding houses and shops.
