Sirisena hasbeen employed as a staff worker at the Leprosy hospital for more than four years. He is the father of four children who are still schooling. His wife also works as a daily laborer to support the family income. Yet both their income put together is less than LKR 6000 per month which is barely sufficient to support a family of six members. Sirisena is talented in doing cushion work but had no additional money to pursue it. ADT provided Sirisena with a loan to purchase the necessary materials he needed to start a cushion work business. From this venture he now earns LKR 3000 – 4500 which is an additional income to support his daily household needs and to educate his children.
