Misthin is a widow with two children who are still schooling. She works at the leprosy hospital as a labourer. As a single parent she finds is very difficult to see to her children’s’ education & other family needs. Although she is talented in sewing she was unable to pursue it as she did not have the required financial support. With the loan ADT provided she bought the necessary equipment and material to start a venture in sewing. Now in her spare time she sews children’s garments. This business venture gives her an additional LKR 4000 per month which covers her children’s school expenses.
