Gayanthi

Gayanthi is a very courageous young woman. Still unmarried, she lives with an aged parent and her brother who is yet schooling. As the sole bread winner for the family her occupation was that of a labourer. An unfortunate accident left her disabled which made it more difficult to earn a living. However, Gayanthi did not give up. With a desire to succeed in life, she learnt to sew women’s and children’s clothes. As she did not have her own sewing machine she would hire a machine to complete her orders. ADT gave her a loan to buy a sewing machine. Gayanthi is very happy that she now owns her own sewing machine. She currently earns LKR 3500 -4000 and is hopeful of earning more as her business improves.
