Damayanthi

Damayanthi lives with her husband, two children & her in-laws, both of whom are visually impaired. Damayanthi and her husband look after them. Her husband is a labourer and his earnings are hardly adequate to cover the family expenses. Damayanthi knew how to make cloth bags but had no means of developing this in to a business venture. With a loan given by ADT Damayanthi bought the necessary material and made cloth bags. Her husband assists her to distribute and market them on his way to work. This venture has helped Damayanthi improve her family income by LKR 5000 – 7000 monthly. Damayanthi is happy as she is now able to provide for her children’s education with the additional income.
