Ananda Bandara, a resident of Kollonnawa is a father of 3 children. A carpenter by profession, he lived a very happy life with his family before he was infected with leprosy. Life changed for Ananda from this point onwards as he was admitted to the Leprosy hospital in 2004. He was left alone in the hospital for 2 years with no relatives visiting him. Ananda lost his livelihood due to his sickness and was helpless when ADT came to know him and provided assistance to purchase carpentry equipment. Now Ananda produces quality carpentry products and his monthly income is LKR 5000 from which he supports his family as well. Ananda thanked ADT for giving him a hand to start his livelihood back again.
