HIV & AIDS seminar in Anuradhapura

26 April 2009

360 students, both girls & boys, from Devanampiyathissa Madya Maha Vidayalaya, Anuradhapura, attended a HIV/AIDS awareness seminar conducted by ADT on 26th April 2009. The topics taught at this seminar were, – what is HIV/AIDS & how it spreads, STDs and sexual education, myths and realities of the disease, how to avoid infection, and psychosocial support for people living with HIV/AIDS.

All the students who attended this seminar were very eager to share the knowledge they had gained with their communities, family & friends.

The main objective of Project Positive is to create as much awareness amongst the youth who are our country’s hope. They are also the most vulnerable audience for HIV/AIDS disease. The seminar held for these students in Anuradhapura was very successful, with brain storming & much interaction between the students & the ADT staff who conducted it.
