HIV/AIDS is a growing concern among the Sri Lankan population. At present there are 8,500 adults living with AIDS and hundreds die every year. Alliance Development Trust recognises that  there is a need to educate the public on this subject, especially the youth. "Project Positive" was launched with this purpose in mind. Various awareness programmes are launched throughout the country and the aim is to convey the topic of HIV/AIDS in a way that people will understand and remember it.

HIV/AIDS is a bitter reality for many in Sri Lanka. Our mission as human beings is to alleviate their suffering by caring for them and treating them with respect. NCEASL/ADT is in the frontline of this ongoing battle. Through its joint efforts of educating the public and the youth especially, we believe HIV/AIDS will be eradicated from our country in the near future.
