About Us

Alliance Development Trust (ADT), is the relief and development arm of the National Christian Evangelical Alliance of Sri Lanka (NCEASL).

Our Mission
Unite and empower communities by dynamic action for social peace, public justice and economic sufficiency to transform the nation.

Our Objectives
To restore shattered communities by re-establishing a minimum level of sustainable physical, social and economic infrastructure.
Every effort will be made to enhance the community's own capacity for self development through the following:

  • Ensuring that basic needs are met for key subgroups in a way that dignifies them and facilitates participation
  • Re-establish and diversify livelihood infrastructure and activities
  • Promote psychological healing and wellness through appropriate community based psychosocial care for affected population
  • Enhance capacity of ADT for responding to relief and development needs in Sri Lanka

NCEASL is a national network of 1,300 churches in Sri Lanka and nearly 1,500 congregations. Since 1952, NCEASL has implemented community based programs and national advocacy campaigns to advance human rights and religious liberty, promote unity and spiritual development, and improve quality of life for victims of war and natural disasters.

ADT and its partners are committed to international standards of good practice and conduct in relief/development, and its response will conform to such recognized standards as Sphere, the Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, and NGOs in Disaster Relief, and People in Aid. Furthermore, ADT strives to build local capacities through conducting participatory planning processes, including vulnerable groups, a focus on cultural appropriateness, and providing assistance in restoring vital norms such as school, income generation, recreation, and meaningful work.
